هل العراق مذكّر أم مؤنث؟

Abstract: Arabic is one of such languages that catagorise the words and nouns into masculine and feminine but there are several words and nouns in Arabic that are used as masculine and feminine the both. Moreover, Arabic has its own taste and nature to use any word as masculine or feminine. For example, the parts of a body that are in pairs are used feminine like hand (اليد) and eye (العين) but cheek (الخد) is not used as feminine.Today I am going to discuss such a noun that has consensus to be used as masculine e.i. Iraq (العراق). But the coming study will prove that this noun was also used as feminine though its being feminine could not gain fame. Arab prose-writers along with poets used this noun as feminine.

It is an academic study and the author only wants to point towards this side of the noun and wants from the researchers to do further research and to change this long-stand opinion.
